Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Hilarious?
GRACIE JOY
Hatboro, Pennsylvania

My two cats, Mommy and Kit, her kitten, lived with me for 17 years. They passed over the Rainbow Bridge within 3 weeks of each other in 2019.
I was alone and needing kids. Gracie Joy and her brother, Puck, both 8 weeks old, were in need of a foster home, and I agreed to take them in. They were the only survivors in a litter of 5—their Mom was a feral cat who delivered them while trapped in a cage. They had multiple medical issues; it took months for me to nurse them back to health.

What began as a near-tragedy, soon became a source of great happiness and laughter. So in April 2020, I became a “failed foster”, and adopted Gracie Joy and her brother.

I’m a dog trainer, so I’ve taught Gracie Joy a few things that cats don’t normally do. She’s learned to retrieve toys. She comes when I call her. And she sits back on her hind legs and begs, then gives me a “high five”!

Gracie Joy is also very much a cat, with her own distinctive style for doing the things cats do. She bats the TV. She sits in baskets and crawls into bags, and loves to jump on Puck when he explores the inside of a bag. And, in true cat-like fashion, Gracie Joy loves to go under the sofa cover and pretend no one can see her!

Gracie Joy and her brother keep me laughing and are the best company ever! We have a lot of fun together and I love ❤️ them with all my heart
