Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Hilarious?
MR. LUCKY
Titusville, New Jersey

In my experience, rescue cats have always been the most loving pets. When my daughter turned 2, she was cat obsessed. So I went on the hunt for a good-natured, big-hearted lovable kitty for my daughter’s first animal bestie. (Truth be told, I also missed having a rescue cat in the house).

Mr. Lucky exceeded my expectations. He had been surrendered because his previous owner had passed away. When I first visited him at the shelter, he was 6 years old and very shy. But the woman there spoke about him in such a way, I could tell that he was a special guy. So I brought Mr. Lucky home to my daughter.

It took no time at all for him to warm up to us and to show his funny personality. In addition to being a total love bug, Mr. Lucky’s distinctive habits keep us laughing. For instance, when it's time to eat or he wants a belly rub he playfully bites my husband's feet. He NEVER does this to me or my daughter, which we think is hilarious. He will only drink running tap water -- we joke that he is a "fancy" cat now. At night, he will follow my daughter to her room at bedtime to say goodnight.

We think that Mr. Lucky is a popular guy, because we often see neighborhood cats peeking in to say “Hi”; we joke that he has parties when we are away.
Mr. Lucky is now 9 and continues to bring a lot of joy to our lives. We are so grateful to have him as a member of our family.
