Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Hilarious?
Even though I really love my cats (See Entry #33 Bingo & Entry #34 Lexi), I love my dogs as much. Since 2005, I have rescued 5 female greyhounds, always having two at a time. Three of my grey-girls were therapy dogs, doing their service for Pals for Life. That was a very rewarding experience for me & I hope for them, as well. Even more rewarding for me is rescuing an anxious dog who is low in confidence. I've had 2 greyhounds who can be described that way.
Stella, pictured here, is the last greyhound I adopted in 2018 after being returned from her previous adopter the month before. She was very shy, but I hoped that she would gain more confidence being around my other greyhound, Maggie, who is only 10 months older. They have become the best of buds & love chasing each other in the backyard. They even look like sisters since their colors are so similar--red & fawn. I thought this picture captures her enjoyment of eating treats!!! My heart melts when I see how far Stella has come, like how much faster she warms up to strangers, than she did 3 years ago!!!
