Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Notorious"?
Harley is our 10-year-old cockapoo mix. After losing our precious dog Ginger last November, our other dog Honey was depressed. We knew she needed a friend.

Harley was surrendered to a shelter in rural Georgia when his owners could no longer care for him and was being fostered in NJ. We decided to have a meet-and-greet to see how Honey and Harley would get along. Harley and Honey became fast friends immediately.

His foster mom told us that Harley had some medical issues (he would pass out after activity) but wasn’t sure why. But since he needed a home and was such a sweetie, and Honey needed a friend, we decided to adopt him and address whatever medical issues he had.

We took Harley to the vet and learned that he has late-stage heart disease. His prognosis was poor, but we were optimistic that with medication, love, and proper diet/exercise he would do well – and he has!

It has been ten months and Harley has gained a few pounds. He goes for long walks every day with ease. He is a wonderful “brother” to Honey and has cheered her up!

Harley is notorious for making us laugh. He loves to cuddle, play with toys, and chase squirrels out of his yard. He also has a keen sense of smell and alerts us to any nearby skunks! Harley loves everyone he meets – other dogs, cats, kids and is a super-fun little guy. He is living his best life for sure! 😊
