Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Notorious"?
My name is Betsy Ross. That’s Ms. Ross to most of you, Betsy to my acquaintances, and Bet to my nearest and dearest who know, without a doubt, that I’m notorious for having my way.

This particular story begins when I nearly found myself without a home as my humans were no longer able to serve me in the manner to which I had become accustomed. Their daughter contacted CAS, and I soon found a “foster” home with one of the employees. Ha, ha! Little did she know, but I am absolutely top notch at having things done according to my personal preference and when I saw my new accommodations and the service I was provided – well, I made it my mission to stay.

I first employed my adorable, kitten-like meow to beguile and enchant my host. Many have fallen prey to my siren song and this case was no different. I pranced delicately through the house, pausing in sunbeams to display my gloriously well-kept coat most effectively, and flashed my yellow-green eyes through partly closed lids, blinking slowly for maximum sparkle.

I could sense her reluctance to part with me and stepped up my efforts. I demonstrated a keen ability to quickly solve food puzzles, retrieved toys, came running at the sound of a whistle, and never, I mean never, woke this human whilst she slept.

I had her wrapped around my paw, and still do after two years together. I’ve managed to train her to fetch me treats on command by rubbing against her ankle and gazing toward the snacks meaningfully. Most recently, she’s learned to brush me if I leap atop the cabinet where the grooming supplies are kept.

Those feats aside, my most triumphant milestone to date is soliciting massages by reaching out a paw, carefully extending a claw, and nudging her hand for a caress. Clearly, the notorious moniker has been rightfully earned by yours truly, Ms. Betsy.
