Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Extraordinary"?
Reggie isn’t just a rescue..he’s a revelation. This charming half-Beagle, half-Shih Tzu mix was found wandering the streets of Philadelphia with no tags, no microchip, and no known owner. When no one came forward, a private rescue group stepped in, and Reggie’s journey to his forever home began.
Now around 11 years old, Reggie has spent the last 7.5 years bringing joy, music, and unconditional love to his adoptive family. From the start, it was clear he was special. Gentle, affectionate, and incredibly friendly, Reggie loves long walks, park outings in Washington Crossing, and making friends with people and other dogs alike.
But what really makes Reggie extraordinary? He sings. Yes, sings.
Reggie’s mom is a classically trained soprano who also plays the piano. One day, shortly after bringing him home, she walked in singing and Reggie immediately joined in, matching her notes with enthusiastic howls. It’s become a regular duet in their home. His musical talent, paired with his sweet spirit, makes him unforgettable.
Despite being diagnosed with a serious heart condition two years ago, Reggie remains full of life. He’s on daily medication and visits a veterinary cardiologist every six months. His family says, “We’re lucky to have him,” and they mean it. Reggie is their seventh dog, but their first mixed breed, and his unique personality has touched their hearts in a whole new way.
Reggie’s story is a reminder of why rescue dogs are so extraordinary. Sometimes the ones who need saving the most end up saving us right back.
