Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Extraordinary"?
From the moment we looked into Marlene’s eyes, we knew she’d be part of our family. And from the moment she was part of our family, she was so much more than we’d ever imagined.
Marlene was brought up from a shelter in the south through an arrangement with The Crossings Animal Society. At that point, she was very thin and had little interest in food. We’re thrilled to say THAT’S changed! One of the many ways we’ve seen Marlene flourish is in her growing interest in food and her own healthy growth.
This sweetheart is a wonderful little sister to our senior dog, Charlotte. The two get along great, as Charlotte is pretty laid back and lets Marlene do as she pleases.
Every morning, we walk about a mile along the canal, Marlene enjoying the fresh air and countless sights and scents along the way. Throughout the day, she loves to play and has an enviable amount of energy. She’ll be so excited to play tether ball once we set up the equipment we just purchased for her!
And this girl is smart. She’s always talking to communicate what she wants. It’s actually very impressive. She’s also affectionate, generous, and (as you can see) adorable.
But perhaps most endearing is her extraordinary bedtime habit. Each night, before climbing into our bed—that is, before climbing into HER bed, where we’re allowed to sleep—she proceeds to bring up all of her toys, and Charlotte’s toys, one by one, and place them in the bed. Every last one. Needless to say, it’s a bit crowded, and during the night, there are inevitably several thumps as the cherished toys fall onto the floor. Once, we made a foolish attempt to take them off the bed, but, of course, she wasn’t having it.
Marlene is sweet, loving, and truly precious to us. She’s everything family should be, and we’re forever grateful that she’s made OUR family complete.
