Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Extraordinary"?
Aaron’s early life was marked by hardship. When he was about five years old, he was rescued from a hoarding situation in Miami where nearly one hundred dogs lived in terrible conditions. Seven years ago, we started fostering Aaron with the hope of adopting him, and not long after, he became a permanent part of our family.
Now, at about twelve years old, Aaron lives like the extraordinary king he is. He is a loving, joyful, and distinguished gentleman. A DNA test revealed he’s a unique blend of Shih Tzu, Pekingese, Tibetan Spaniel, Chihuahua, and Cocker Spaniel. At night, he curls up with his head on his own little pillow.
During the day, he often naps on his back, legs sticking straight up in the happy baby position. No matter how hot it gets, Aaron insists on sunbathing outside. He shares his days with his brother, a Pug named Ogre, and the two are best friends who love to play and wrestle.
Aaron has a few extraordinary habits that never fail to make us laugh. When it’s time for his favorite treat, he jumps up and down, smiling and barking in his “biscuit dance.” On his birthday, he savors his roast chicken. Hours after the chicken is gone, he patiently sits in front of the refrigerator, hopeful for one more piece.
Aaron loves adventures with his family. Whether it’s the farmers market, the park, or a restaurant, Aaron wants to be wherever we are. He watches people closely, following them with his eyes to see if they’ll stop to say hello. When they do, he bounces with joy and offers a kiss. When they don’t, he sits and glares at them as if to say, “You forgot something important.”
Every day, Aaron reminds us what an extraordinary little soul he is: patient, joyful, and unconditionally loving. In that way, this little rescue dog has rescued us right back.
