Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Extraordinary"?
Meet Rosie! We rescued her from Wags Rescue on June 10, 2018, when she was approximately 6 months old. She is a super-cute combination of a long-haired golden retriever and a dachshund, with dwarfism. When we rescued her, we were told she had been found alone and scared under housing on a military base in North Carolina.
From the moment she joined our family, Rosie immediately fit right in, giving love to her rescued fur sister Zoey (from The Crossings Animal Society), to us, and to our children. When our daughter was very young, Rosie would hear the school bus pull up and sit by the glass door to greet her with tail wags and a toy. Over the past seven years, she has continuously provided love, support, and plenty of kisses.
When Zoey became ill, Rosie spent countless hours by her side, comforting her and providing affection. After Zoey’s passing at 17 years old, Rosie immediately stepped in to support our family, especially myself, as if to say, “Don’t worry, Mom, it’ll be okay.”
Over the years, Rosie has been a true blessing to our family, bringing joy, comfort, and laughter — especially when she has her zoomies! She has always been there for us through life’s changes, keeping us smiling and reminding us of the power of love and companionship. Rosie would be honored to be part of the calendar, helping provide support for her fellow rescued fur friends.
