Make My Pet a Calendar Star

Welcome to The Dog Rescue Society's 2026 Pet Calendar Photo Contest!
Get ready to show off your fur-tastic, tail-wagging, whisker-twitching companions! Our annual online contest runs from 8:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 – midnight (11:59:59 PM Eastern Time) on Friday, October 31, 2025, and we want to see your pets at their cutest, silliest, or most paw-some moments — whether they're chasing tennis balls, sneaking snacks, or catching their afternoon snooze. Submit your pet's PURR-fect photo for a chance to be featured in our 2026 calendar!

One pet per entry only! Make each submission count.

The top twelve pets with the most votes by midnight (11:59:59 PM Eastern Time) on Friday, October 31, 2025 will each land a featured month in our 2026 calendar.

Entry Fee & Voting:

  • $10 entry fee per pet.
  • $1 votes let your friends, family, and fans boost your pet's chances.
  • Every dollar raised goes straight to helping rescue dogs in our care — making your pup a true hero for their furry friends!
Top 12 Winners:

  • Will enjoy a professional photoshoot with Sarah Willoughby Photography at Huron Natural Area, Kitchener, ON.
  • Photoshoot is on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. Winners must be available to attend — so paws up if you're in!
Don't forget to check your pet's standing regularly — every vote helps them inch closer to calendar stardom and helps rescue dogs at the same time.

We can't wait to see all your amazing, adorable, and utterly fur-bulous pets — so get your entries in early and let the cuteness shine!

Good luck, and may the most paw-some pet win!

Rules
Contest Entry
To submit your pet's photo, a minimum $10 entry donation is required. This fee enters your pet into the contest and will be included in the overall funds raised for your campaign. Each entry may include one photo of one pet only, and each entry requires a separate $10 donation. You may enter multiple times with different photos, but each will require a new entry fee.

Entries must be submitted online only; mailed or hardcopy photos will not be accepted. All entries must include a current photo of your pet. Any photo or caption deemed inappropriate, offensive, or not in line with the values of The Dog Rescue Society will be removed.

Entries and voting will be accepted through the contest website from 8:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 until midnight (11:59:59 PM Eastern Time) on Friday, October 31, 2025

Your pet does not need to be adopted from The Dog Rescue Society to participate, though alumni pets are warmly welcomed (please feel free to note this in their bio if applicable).

If there is a tie for any of the top twelve winning spots, the winner will be determined by whichever entry was submitted first. Tie-breaker details will appear on the Leaderboard.

Photo Requirements
  • Photos must be taken by the entrant or submitted with the express consent of the photographer. Copyrighted photos without permission will not be accepted.
  • By submitting a photo, you warrant that it is your own work (or that you have usage rights) and that you grant The Dog Rescue Society unrestricted rights to use the photo and accompanying pet information for marketing, fundraising, and future calendar purposes.
  • If your photo includes a pet not owned by you, written consent from the owner must be provided.
  • All photos must be digital and high quality.
  • Outdoor photos are welcome, provided pets are shown in safe, suitable environments. (Cats and dogs must appear safe; domestic birds must be photographed indoors.)
  • All photos submitted become the property of The Dog Rescue Society.
Contest Voting
Votes are $1 each, with a minimum purchase of $5 (due to processing fees).

Voting is open to everyone, and entrants may vote for their own pet. Online voting begins as soon as a photo entry is confirmed and continues until midnight (11:59:59 PM Eastern Time) on Friday, October 31, 2025.

All donations are final, and all votes must be applied before the voting deadline to be counted.

Contest Winners
The 12 pets with the most votes will be featured in The Dog Rescue Society's 2026 Calendar.

To qualify, winners must be available to attend the professional calendar photo session on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. at Huron Natural Area (Kitchener, ON) with photographer Sarah Willoughby Photography.

If a winner is unable to attend the photo session, the next-highest-ranking contestant will take their place.

Final Note
The Dog Rescue Society celebrates and cares for all animals, and we encourage a wide variety of pets to be entered. However, calendar features will be determined by community votes, not by The Dog Rescue Society.
