My sweet Lucy came into our lives 10 years ago. It was through her that I met The Rescue Express and my dear friend Ann Crumb. I was looking online for a dog to adopt, and I came across this gorgeous girl who had the saddest eyes I had ever seen. Lucy was then 7 years old. She had clearly been abused and neglected. She feared men, was heart worm positive, and seemed to have lost all hope.
After 3 months with us, Lucy came out of her shell. She loved playing with toys, sleeping next to my kids, and giving kisses to my other 2 rescues. She was my joy, my baby. Lucy left us 2 years ago. I know she was among many other pups greeting Ann on the other side of the rainbow. Thanking her for the second chance she got to live and be loved.
