Official Contest Rules
All federal, state, local, and municipal laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited.
ELIGIBILITY
The Wave Youth Center’s 2024 Pet Photo Calendar Contest (the Contest) is open to all pets in Minnesota. The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Pet parents must be 18 or older.
SPONSOR
The contest is sponsored by The Wave Youth Center, 171 Lake Street N, Big Lake, MN 55309.
AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES
Participation in the Contest constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Submission and Voting Periods start at 12:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Thursday, June 29, 2023 and end at 11:59:59 PM (Central Time) on Thursday, August 31, 2023. The Submission Period and the Voting Period combined constitute the Contest Period. Entries that are submitted before or after the Submission Period will be disqualified. Submissions will be accepted for the duration of the Contest using the following method: Online submissions.
ENTRY & DONATION
There are four categories for the contest: Cutest, Most Creative, Best Dressed, and Twinning.
To enter your pet, a $15 fee is required, which includes 15 complimentary votes. If you have multiple pets, please submit separate photos for each, with the $15 entry fee applicable for each.
Voting is open and unlimited! Cast your votes at $1 per vote, with no limit on the number of votes you can purchase. For instance, your friend can generously contribute 100 votes to your pet by making a $100 donation in a single transaction.
Please note that contest entries are exclusively accepted through the contest website. Secure online payments are available for contest-related transactions. Monetary donations and photo entries submitted via other channels (mail, in-person, email, etc.) will be considered as general donations and will not be counted toward the contest.
All proceeds from The Wave Youth Center’s 2024 Pet Calendar Contest and 2024 Pet Calendar sales will benefit general operating costs of The Wave Youth Center.
Kindly note that all donations made for votes are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be submitted exclusively through the designated online contest page.
HOW TO ENTER
Online: This method of entry will be available by visiting our website, www.gogophotocontest.com/TheWave2024PetCalendarContest, and following the directions provided to complete the entry information and submit. Submissions are accepted during the Submission Period only. The contest winner's images will be published in The Wave Youth Center’s 2024 Pet Photo Calendar. In order to win, your image must meet the photo upload requirements below and be acceptable for printing.
200 dpi (300 dpi preferred)
JPEG or standard digital image file types
Photos should be in focus and clear from obstruction.
No Humans in the photo
All entered photos should meet these requirements. If you are unable to meet these requirements, you will forfeit your prize to the next entry receiving the most votes.
VOTING
Each $1 donation counts as 1 vote. We encourage you to share your contest page link with family and friends through email and social media encouraging them to vote for your favorite photo. All donations for votes are non-refundable and not tax deductible (there was a vote in exchange for the donation). Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Donations and photo entries for this online contest that are submitted via other means (snail mail, in-person or main website donation page) will be accepted as donations but not applied toward the contest. Contest payments online are through a secure site.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
The potential winners will be notified by email or phone. Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner among remaining eligible entries. Prize packages will be fulfilled within approximately 4-6 weeks after the conclusion of the contest. The wall calendar will be mailed in late October.
PHOTO RELEASE/LAWS AND LIABILITY
1. Release of Rights:
By submitting a photograph to the pet photo calendar contest ("Contest"), I hereby grant the organizers, sponsors, and their affiliates (collectively referred to as "Organizers") a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the photograph for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Contest, including but not limited to the creation and sale of a pet photo calendar.
2. Ownership and Originality:
I affirm that I am the sole owner and copyright holder of the submitted photograph, and it does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party. I further confirm that the photograph is an original work created by me and does not include any plagiarized, defamatory, or unlawful content.
3. Consent to Use Likeness:
By submitting a photograph to the Contest, I grant the Organizers the right to use the name, image, likeness, and biographical information of any pets depicted in the photograph for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Contest, including the pet photo calendar.
4. Indemnification:
I agree to indemnify and hold the Organizers harmless from any claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, expenses, or costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with the submission or use of the photograph, including but not limited to any claims of copyright infringement, defamation, or violation of privacy rights.
5. Liability:
The Organizers shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, damage, or expense incurred or suffered by me, my pets, or any third party in connection with the Contest, including but not limited to any errors, omissions, delays, or technical malfunctions related to the submission, judging, or selection of photographs. I acknowledge that participation in the Contest is voluntary and at my own risk.
6. Disqualification:
The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any photograph that does not comply with the Contest rules, violates the rights of others, or contains inappropriate or offensive content, as determined in their sole discretion.
7. Governing Law:
This release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Minnesota. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this release shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Minnesota.
By submitting a photograph to the Contest, I acknowledge that I have read and understood this release, and I agree to be bound by its terms and conditions.
