Treasure Coast Pets

The Humane Society of Saint Lucie County in partnership with Anjula Smith Photography, is happy to announce its pet calendar for 2027. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar's and photo contest will assist HSSLC with it's goal of finding good, safe, and loving homes for all the animals in our care.

We encourage you to submit your favorite photo of your pets and ask your family and friends to vote for them. Please review the Contest Rules carefully for submission guidelines, those that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win. Fees for photo entries and votes will help our no kill shelter continue providing compassionate care and safe shelter for homeless animals in the community.

All breeds are welcome. Photo contest is not limited to pets that were adopted from the shelter.

Grand Prizes

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 12 entries that get the most votes.

The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2027 calendar as well as one month inside the calendar. 2^nd - 12^th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month. The top 12 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Anjula Smith Photography for the 2027 calendar.

Reserve a Special Spot In The Calendar For Your Pet

Honor your pet or celebrate a gotcha-day or birthday by reserving an empty grid space (before or after the numbered squares) for their photo. Choose a favorite photo, a month, and pay. Grid images will be cropped to a square ratio, so please be mindful of that when choosing your photo. Each month has a limited number of squares in each grid and will be filled on a first come, first served basis, don’t delay! Each grid space is just $20.

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 12 entries that get the most votes.

The top 12 entries will win a professional photo session with Anjula Smith Photography that will be scheduled in August 2026 at a Studio in Port Saint Lucie. If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times, you forfeit your winning and the next top vote getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar.

All proceeds from the sale of the Calendar and Photo Contest will go to The Humane Society of Saint Lucie County.

Rules

Entries:

The submission period starts at 7:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Sunday, June 14, 2026 and ends at 10:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Each entry is a $5 donation. By submitting a photo entry, you acknowledge that your entry is your own original work.

There is a limit of one pet per photo entry. People are not allowed in the photos.

Photos that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.

All photos must be uploaded, we cannot accept printed photos. We cannot accept any copyrighted photos.

Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.

Posting more than one photo of your pet does not increase the chances of winning. The same pet can only win once. Attempts to win two spots in the same calendar by the same pet will not be permitted.

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 12 entries that receive the most votes.

Contest entry fees are tax deductible. The email acknowledgement to your online donation serves as you tax receipt.

Voting:

Each $1 donation counts as 1 vote.

All donations from voting are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Contest payments online are through a secure site.

Contest votes are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your tax receipt.

All winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations.

The voting period starts at 7:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Sunday, June 14, 2026 and ends at 10:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, July 25, 2026

Mini - Contests:

The pet receiving the highest number of new votes during the mini- contest period will win the mini-contest prize.

Each pet may only win one mini-contest prize.

In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the highest vote getters of the mini contest period to determine the winner.

Empty Calendar Grid Spaces:.

The empty grid spaces at the beginning and end of the month are available on a first come first serve basis for a $20 donation.

These can be used to honor pets that are no longer with us. Or a special event you want to celebrate like your pet’s birthday or gotcha-day. Pick your month, upload your favorite photo and reserve your spot.

Your pet’s photo will be placed in one of the open spaces on the calendar grid for that month. These are limited spots.

Calendar Photo Sessions:

The top 12 entries will win a professional photo session with Anjula Smith Photography that will be scheduled in August 2026 for an indoor studio session in Port Saint Lucie. If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times, you forfeit your winning and the next top vote getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar. No exceptions.

Winners will receive a complimentary pet photography session. No digital images or artwork are included but are available for purchase if desired.

Anjula Smith Photography will choose the best images of the pets to be used in the calendar as well as which month that image will appear.

Calendars will be available for purchase by November 2026.

The Fine Print:

By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.

By participating in the contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless The Humane Society of Saint Lucie County and Anjula Smith Photography and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the contest or receipt or use of any prize.
