Your Pet's Story
Sam is a sweet shy beagle who first came to TBR in June 2013 from the Beaufort County Animal Shelter. We don't know why Sam is so afraid, but he is. It took Sam awhile to get used to being inside a house. At first, he was afraid of everything--his foster mom, the TV, the vacuum, even the ceiling fan. He slowly began to trust his foster mom and after about a month took his first treat from her hand. At the end of July 2013, Sam was adopted by a really nice couple. The couple worked with him, but unfortunately had to return him to TBR in October 2013 because he was so afraid, and because he kept escaping his family's fenced yard. In November 2013, Sam escaped from his foster home when he bolted out the front door. Sam's foster mom and tons of TBR volunteers spent the next four months searching for him. On March 9, 2014, Sam was found by a wonderful couple who had seven dogs. It was a miracle! Sam returned to his foster home and was quickly adopted by his foster mom. She couldn't believe he was back and couldn't bear to let him go again! Sam is so happy to be home with his mom, his beagle brother, Charlie, his beagle sister, Jellybean, and his foster beagle/lab brother, Jack!
