Welcome to Triangle Beagle Rescues 2014 SPRING photo contest! This is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your adorable fur baby (young or old!), to help out our fabulous senior beagles and to possibly win a great prize! The theme of our contest is Senior Beagles are SPRING Chickens at Heart. TBR welcomes senior beagles into the rescue with open arms. We understand seniors make great companions for several reasons such as:
- Seniors have great manners and are generally potty trained.
- Seniors are less destructive—they are so over chewing up your stuff.
- With seniors, what you see is what you get—no surprises.
- Contrary to the popular saying --you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
- Senior pets are great company for many types of families but especially for senior citizens.
- Older pets are relaxing to hang out with-they are always up for taking a nap.
- Adopted senior pets are grateful for your kindness & you can be their HERO!
TBR currently has several adoptable senior beagles in foster homes, you can view them here: http://www.tribeagles.org/dogs/viewgroup/seniors. Two of our seniors (Margo and Jelly Bean) are actually in hospice care. They have both been diagnosed with cancer and are living out their final years with foster families. Another TBR senior beagle, Colonel, lived most of his 9 years of life penned outside. Recently, he escaped from his pen and was hit by a car—TBR took him in and got him the necessary medical care and made the commitment to find him a new forever home. Several of our seniors have lived their entire life with the same family only to find themselves unwanted and in search of a new home during their twilight years. As you can imagine, caring for any dog young or old, healthy or sick, can be costly. With your help we hope to raise $1000 to help to support our senior beagles.
