A little about this entry...
I grew up admiring the sleek R129 SL, not imagining I would ever own one. As the years went on, I discovered that they had become quite affordable, but I was terrified of the horrors of German cars, which people on the internet love to carry on about.

This picture was taken over 2000 miles into a road trip that began at my house outside of Atlanta, Georgia and wound across the midwest to the vast expanses of Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. This is the Sawtooth Mountain Range in rural Idaho, far from any Mercedes service center.

Thanks to the fastidious care and superb build quality of this car, it made the over 5000 mile journey without a single problem. My fears about buying an old Mercedes have long been alleviated, and I look forward to getting many thousands more miles of enjoyment out of this car.
