Rustation Wagon - 1980 Mercedes 300TD (Naturally Aspirated)

A little about this entry...
This original (well, kinda, sort of) 123 wagon was gifted to me by a very good friend who is an avid Mercedes enthusiast. He purchased the car on July 29, 2004 at an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership after the original Owner traded it for a new Mercedes.
Many years later the wagon became a 'parts car' in order to keep other 123's on the road & was parked.
On Saturday, April 3, 2021, he and I pulled it out of the mud behind his father's rental property where it sat for well over a decade & I trailered it home.
With a lot of work put towards the fuel system & help from another friend, on April 25, 2021, I heard the engine run for the first time since I owned the wagon!! It would be over a year later before the wagon saw the road again.
My two favorite car reality shows are Roadkill Garage and Vice Grip Garage so the name 'Rustation Wagon' is in honor of David Freiburger, Steve Dulcich & Derek Bieri. I love the patina as it is but maybe I should contact Derek for some 'shine juice'!!
