Is your dog ready for the spotlight? About a Dog Rescue Society, in partnership with Vancouver Pet Photography, is thrilled to bring you the Vancouver Dogs 2026 Calendar Contest! This is your chance to showcase your pup, win incredible prizes, and support rescue dogs in need.
How It Works:
🌟 Enter Your Dog – Submit a favourite photo of your pup with a $5 donation. Every entry helps provide food, medical care, training, and loving homes for rescue dogs.
🌟 Gather Votes – Share your pup’s entry with friends and family to collect votes. Every vote is a step closer to your dog becoming a calendar star!
🌟 Win Amazing Prizes – The top 13 vote-getters will be professionally photographed by award-winning photographer Katherine Gonzalez from Vancouver Pet Photography and featured in the Vancouver Dogs 2026 Calendar! All winners will have the opportunity to upgrade to a full session and to purchase products following their session, if desired.
📌 To ensure a smooth submission process, please take a moment to carefully review the Contest Rules; those that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win. The nominal fees associated with photo entries and votes will directly contribute to sustaining About a Dog Rescue Society's ongoing efforts to aid animals in need.

*If your dog is one of the 13 to be photographed for the calendar, you must be able to bring your dog to Vancouver Pet Photography at a pre-selected location in the Greater Vancouver area during the months of May-June for a professional on-location photo session. If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times or find yourself unable to travel to these pre-selected locations, you forfeit your winning and the next top vote getter will take your dog’s spot in the calendar, no exceptions.
Weekly Mini-Contest Winners
During the 5 weeks of the calendar contest there will be mini contests and a prizes. The Vancouver dog with the highest number of new votes for a particular week will win a mini contest prize from one of the supporting businesses if available. Prizes are value from $50 to $100. Prizes will be announced each week through email & social media.
Reserve a Special Spot In The Calendar For Your PetWant to honour your beloved pet’s memory, gotcha-day, or birthday? Reserve a special photo spot in the calendar! Your pet’s photo will be placed in an open grid space (outside the numbered date squares), making them a part of this meaningful project.

How are the votes counted?Donations made in support of the cause are valued at 1 vote for every $1.00 donated. The minimum donation is $5 which equals 5 votes. There may also be promotions where donors can get bonus votes.
How do I win or get a spot in the calendar?Fundraise! Get your family and friends vote for your dog(s) in the contest. You can also vote for your own dog. It all supports About a Dog Rescue Society. Each week of the contest, there are lots of fantastic prizes for top-voted dogs.
My pet has passed away. May I still enter them?Because each calendar winner will be photographed for the calendar by Vancouver Pet Photography, the winners have to be living dogs. You can honour your pet in memoriam by purchasing a date in the calendar grid for his/her photograph
If I win a spot in the calendar, what happens next?Katherine will contact you soon after the contest to organize a complimentary session to photograph your winning dog for the calendar. If you would like to have more images taken or include more dogs or people, you can request an upgrade to a full photography session for $99.00. With your upgraded session, you'll receive a
$200 credit to use for image purchases.
Can I be disqualified?Vancouver Pet Photography reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content or depiction of the animal or persons in a photo.
When and where will winners be announced?You'll receive e-mail notifications to the e-mail address you provide with your entry information. Katherine will keep you posted about prizes, winners and what happens after the contest.
Will I get my tax receipt?The automatic confirmation after you have made a donation serves as your tax receipt. It includes all the details required by Canada Revenue Agency. Please save it for your records.
Rules
Entries:
- Each entry is a $5 fee.
- All breeds are welcome to enter.
- Limit of ONE dog per photo entry. No people are allowed in entry photographs.
- Photos that do not follow these rules will be removed and will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.
- Entries must be living dogs to be eligible to win. In Memoriam photos are welcomed in available date squares of the calendar for a $10 donation. Date squares of reserved on a first come, first served basis.
- The dog entered in the competition must be living in or be willing to travel to the Greater Vancouver Area for their calendar session.
- All donations from entries are non-refundable.
- All entry photos must be uploaded through the competition software. We no not accept printed photos. The entry photograph must be taken by you. We do not accept any copyrighted or professional photos.
- The submission period starts at 9:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Friday, April 17, 2026 and ends at 9:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Friday, May 15, 2026.
- Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by Vancouver Pet Photography in its sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.
- Posting more than one photo of your pet does not increase the chances of winning.
- The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entries that receive the most votes. Votes are tallied by the contest software.
- The same pet can only win once. Attempts to win two spots in the calendar by the same pet will not be permitted.
- Entree fees are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your tax receipt.
Voting:
- The Voting Period starts at 9:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Friday, April 17, 2026 and ends at 9:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Friday, May 15, 2026.
- Votes can come from anywhere in the world.
- One (1) vote is a $1 donation. A minimum donation is $5 (five votes).
- All donations from voting are non-refundable. Voting and other donations must be made through the online contest page, which is a secured site for money transactions.
- Contest votes are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment to your online donation serves as your tax receipt.
- All winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of GoGoPhotoContest.com whose decisions are final and binding.
Calendar Photo Session:
- The top 13 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Vancouver Pet Photography. The sessions will take place on a weekday from May until June 2026 at a pre-determined outdoor location within the Greater Vancouver Area. If you are unable to commit to a photo session during that time or find yourself unable to travel to the pre-selected location on a weekday, you forfeit your winning and the next top vote getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar, no exceptions.
- The photographer, Katherine Gonzalez from Vancouver Pet Photography will choose the best image of the pets to be used in the calendar as well as which month that image will appear.
Weekly Mini-Contests:
- The pet receiving the highest number of new votes each week over the course of the 5 week contest will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating businesses.
- In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the highest vote getters of the week to determine that week's winner.
- In the unlikely event that there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized draw will be held for all eligible pets.
- Certain individual business restrictions and limitations may apply and may vary by business. Vancouver Pet Photography is not responsible for these restrictions and eligibility requirements as determined by each business.
The Fine Print:
- By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.
- By participating in the contest you agree to receive e-mails from Vancouver Pet Photography to keep you updated on the contest. You can unsubscribe any time if you do not wish to receive these e-mails.
- By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless About a Dog Rescue Society and Vancouver Pet Photography and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
- Vancouver Pet Photography has the final say in winning entries. Should an entry receive votes that places it among the top 13 entries and the person in charge of that entry corresponds with or speaks to the photographer or About a Dog Rescue Society and their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, or agents in a manner which is rude, condescending, or aggressive, the entry’s votes will be overruled and that entry will be withdrawn from the contest, disqualified, and removed with no opportunity for a refund. The next highest vote getter will be chosen by Vancouver Pet Photography in its place.
- Calendars will be available to the general public in the fall of 2026. They are purchased directly from About a Dog Rescue Society.
