Fanny was a VERY shy special-needs dog who spent 5 years at VHS. Her shyness limited adoption—she’d hide when visitors looked at her! Transporting her to another shelter would have terrified her. A Rhode Island couple learned about her needs. They HAD to help! As social workers, they understood trust-building—for both people and animals. When they picked up Fanny at Boston Airport, she clawed at their car window. She was afraid of the other dogs at her new home and hid for weeks in the study. As time passed, with much patience and gentle coaxing, Fanny developed special relationships with her people and 3 family dogs as play, walking, and snuggle buddies. For 7 years Fanny knew real love. She passed last December. Fanny deserves a 2026 calendar spot. Please help honor her in this way. Your generosity helps other special-needs animals who arrive at VHS weekly.
