I’m a USPS letter carrier, and I found 3po while working on my old mail route. He was sitting on someone’s porch, frightened and injured—someone had cruelly wrapped a hair tie tightly around his right paw multiple times. I rushed him to Verona Street Animal Society, where he was immediately taken in for emergency care.

Despite Dr. B’s best efforts, 3po’s arm couldn’t be saved, and we later learned he is also blind in his left eye. I adopted him and helped him heal through his amputation, and what followed has been nothing short of amazing.

Today, 3po is the happiest, most affectionate lover-boy cat. His favorite thing to do is make impressively long jumps from one piece of furniture to another, as if nothing can stop him. Thanks to Verona Street, I gained the most incredible cat I could have ever asked for—and 3po gained the loving life he always deserved.
