Why I Fly
Life in 3D above the clouds is an alternate reality, surpassing any dream I may have had for the fist 47 years of my life before learning to fly. There are always blue skies above any grey clouds, and a mile of runway can really take you anywhere. On the flip side, being a pilot enriches so many areas of your life, great friends, a healthy respect for risk in all aspects of your life. I fly, because I can, because it is an awesome gift to share , because life is too short not to!
What organization(s) do you fly for?
Lifeline Pilots and Angel Flight SC
What would you tell a pilot thinking about volunteering?
It is THE the most rewarding, addictive flying you will ever do. Beyond donating fuel and time, it is the rare opportunity to give joy and the gift of hope to a stranger with no expectation of anything in return, not just to the patient, but the often dozens of people who love them. The gift of time, and often life is really what we get to do.....getting there, is half the cure! Note: my Picture..
