Over the last 25 years, Weimaraner Rescue of the South has rescued nearly 1500 Weimaraners and Weimaraner mixes. Working throughout Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, parts of Louisiana and Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle, our all-volunteer organization is committed to rescuing and rehoming Weimaraners who find themselves in animal controls, kill shelters, or with owners who can no longer care for them. We provide thorough medical care for all our rescued pups, including spay/neuter, heartworm treatments, vaccinations, gastropexies, and any other necessary treatments. Every year, we rescue dogs with extensive health issues and we spare no expense to get them as healthy and happy as possible.
WRS is a foster home based organization, with volunteers spread throughout our coverage area. We also work to educate potential Weimaraner owners about the breed and responsible pet ownership. You can read more about Weimaraner Rescue of the South at our website, weimrescue.com.
