More specifically, funds will be used to purchase face masks for local healthcare workers and first responders in Washington state and potentially other states depending on the amount raised. The first round of masks to be purchased will come from a local company that has stepped up to help fight the spread of the virus by retooling their manufacturing. Candice Day is a local Washington real estate broker who is hosting a photo competition online to raise money for the healthcare community battling Covid-19. The funds will go to benefit health care workers by providing masks, the creation or production of masks. Funds will also go to supply local first responders. All funds will be given away to organizations that are fighting the virus on the front lines. One organization to receive funds, Grays Harbors Unders, is creating masks for the health care workers primarily in Western Washington. Masks will be purchased from this organization as well as donations made to their cause. Supplies will initially be given to the local Washington community but may extend to include other regions of the United States in need.
