Rules

Photo contest starts August 15, 2017 at 8:00 AM EST and ends on September5, 2017 at 5 PM EST.

Starting August 15, 2017, participants will be able to upload a digital photo of the pet and share a brief story (limit 25 words) about their pet. Voters will be casting ballots for not only the pet's photo but also their story, so tell us what makes your pet special.

Posting more than one photo of your pet does not increase the chances of winning

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entries that get the most votes. Posting multiple photos of the same pet will only split votes among the photos. Also, the same pet can only win once. Attempts to win two spots in the calendar by the same pet will not be permitted so pick your single favorite photo and write a good caption to go with it!

• There is a $10 entry fee for each photo submitted
• Votes will cost $1 each
• Photos submitted to the contest must be of pets only, no people
• All animals must be depicted in a humane and dignified manner
• Good quality digital photos are preferred, but high res scans of hardcopies are ok
• All photos must be uploaded to the url
• All submitted photos are subject to review and approval and will be removed if inappropriate
• We reserve the right to decline publication of any photograph on the photo contest for any reason
• All photos submitted to the contest become property of the BDCHS and may be used as needed
• All donations from photo submissions are non-refundable
• Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Contest payments online are through a secure site. We cannot accept hard copies of photo entries and payments in person at the BDCHS
