Rules

Photo entries should portray pets in a positive light and need to be appropriate for all audiences. Please no people in your entries. No pictures of the animal doing anything unsafe or seen wearing pinch collars will be accepted. Digital photos are required. No black & white photos. Photos must be clear, of good quality and high resolution, 300 dpi or 1024x768 pixels in .jpeg or .tiff format. Blurry or unclear pictures will be rejected for the cover or monthly photo publication but will still be eligible for prizes and “Reserve A Date”. 

There is a $10 cost per entry into the contest. You may submit more than one photo in the contest but it must be of a different pet. Place 1 through 8 are determined by the photo that gets the highest number of votes. Votes cost $1.00 each.. See “Voter Information” for more details.

The method of entry will be available by visiting our website (http://gogophotocontest.com/bastropcountyanimalshelter) and following the directions provided to fill out the entry information, and submit. Photos should be in JPEG or PNG although JPEG/JPG is the preferred form. Photo size should be at least 300 dpi (1024X768 pixels) and no greater than 5MB. All submitted photos are subject to review by BCAS for inappropriate/offensive content. Inappropriate entries will not be permitted and any donations related to those submissions will not be refunded. IMPORTANT NOTES: The contest winner image will be published on a calendar and you must have a version of your entry saved with the following requirements to be acceptable for printing.

• 300 dpi required (1024x768 pixels)
• Horizontal/landscape photos are preferred
• We reserve the right to crop the photo so it will fit properly on the page
• Photos should be clear, clean and in focus
• JPEG, .PNG files preferred

In case of a tie of any position 1-8, the more clear, clean and focused photo will be chosen to claim the higher position. This will be made by the calendar director and decision will be final.

Participation in the Contest constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.

Photos will be accepted for the 2023 Bastrop County Animal Shelter Calendar contest website from 12:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Monday, September 26, 2022 until 9:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Friday, October 14, 2022 for public viewing.

• Each $1 donation counts as 1 vote
• We encourage you to e-mail the contest link to family and friends and encourage them to vote for your favorite contestant's photo. Also share via Facebook & Twitter!
• All donations are tax deductible and non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Donations and photo entries for this online contest that are submitted via other means (snail mail, in-person or main website donation page) will be accepted as donations but not applied toward the contest. Contest payments online are through a secure site.

The winners will be notified by email Monday, October 17, 2022. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within three days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place from the next non-winning, eligible top vote-getter.

All submitted photos and information become the property of BCAS to be used at their discretion for any and all marketing purposes without any additional compensation. By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you. You agree to indemnify BCAS and hold them harmless from and against any claims of any nature arising in connection with the Contest. Entrants grant BCAS all rights of ownership, reproduction and royalty-free indiscriminate use of entries and photographs for any purpose.
