How would you describe their personality?
Jimmy B is named after the singer songwriter Jimmy Buffett.

I’ve been a fan of Jimmy Buffets songwriting, his style of music, his nonprofit foundation and the Beach Boys era ever since I can remember. I've had the opportunity to attend two live concerts with Jimmy Buffet and plan to go to more because they are an experience everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. Rush Limbaugh advocates are referred to as “ditto heads.” Jimmy Buffet fans are referred to as, “Parrot Heads.” Basically I have an affinity for the Islands and Caribbean and my parrot Jimmy B reminds me of that passion even while I live and work in the Midwest.

I like Jimmy B because we are a good fit together. Parrots are by their nature social birds, and since I live alone we keep each other company. We spend time together daily and as a result my parrot is very well read and trained. Like most parrots, Jimmy B is colorful and pretty funny.

While most people would not think of a bird with feathers being affectionate and warm, Jimmy B is. He’s friendly, intelligent, and of course sings a lot and chews a lot (basically is really loud), and I like that about him. I know some birds (parrots in particular) are known to bite if provoked but Jimmy B has never shown me that aggressive behavior.

The last thing I really like about my parrot is he is expected to live a long time (i.e. typical parrots live between sixty and one hundred years). I got Jimmy B in my early 30’s so I expect we will be enjoying each other’s companionship for my lifetime – and there is a very good chance he will outlive me!
