In this photo, Lionel and Jackson spend their time sleeping on the Guest Book waiting for shelter visitors to come in and give them a few minutes of attention. If you are ready to open your heart and home to a pet, we urge you to visit the McCook Humane Society. Visitors and volunteers are always welcome and you'll likely be greeted by Lionel and Jackson, our shelter cats!

Lionel, the yellow cat, was brought in as a stray and wasn't adopted so he just stayed on and Jackson was born at the shelter. His mother and siblings were all adopted but he wasn't, so he joined our shelter staff.

They have their own room and facilities, are very patient and warm with shelter guests, and live a very good life as "Kings of the Shelter."
