Operation Pets Alive! is an all-volunteer, registered 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization committed to elevate Montgomery County, Texas to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that:
- Raise community awareness
- Reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and
- Increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.
Since OPA's birth in 2011, OPA volunteers ... hundreds of them ... have rallied to save the lives of innocent unwanted dogs and cats. Animals that have either found themselves in one of our shelters - at risk of euthanasia - or were likely to find themselves there, if not for OPA's efforts.
When you cast your votes through this photo contest, you provide more resources to further OPA's key programs:
- Pups-on-Trucks, Flight for Life, and Puppies and Kittens with Wings transport programs
- Targeted spay/neuter programs
- Trap/ Neuter/Return of feral cats
- Foster and local adoption of unwanted dogs and cats from local shelters and the community
Resources that also pay for OPA's huge veterinary bills ... for basic care of vaccinations, de-worming, heartworm testing and spay/neuter of transport and local adoption pets, and for treatment of minor (and sometimes not-so-minor) health issues.
A special "Thank You" to everyone participating and especially to the young volunteers that partnered up and posted photos with our homeless, rescue animals, giving them a chance at a brighter future.
