- This contest is open to the public. The contest period runs from 12:00 AM (EDT) on July 2,2017, until 10:00 PM (EDT) on July 30, 2017.
- Photo entries and votes may only be submitted on-line.
- Entrants must register on-line and donate $10 for each photo submitted. If the entrant elects to donate $25 or more in the entry process, that entry will automatically be credited with 65 votes (15 for being over the $10 minimum and 50 bonus votes).
- Each entry must include a brief paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the cat(s) in the photo. For example, Is the cat a Paws’ alum? Is it a rescue from elsewhere? How long have it been a part of the entrant's family? Can you share something special that will help people decide to vote for your cat? Don't worry about spelling or grammar; we will edit it, if necessary, for clarity and length.
- Voters must register and cast votes on-line. There is no limit to the number of votes that may be cast. There is $1 required donation for each vote.
- Donations may be made with major credit and debit cards. The email acknowledgment is the donation receipt. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
- All registration information shared by participants when creating an account to submit a photo entry or to vote will be kept strictly confidential.
- Photo criteria:
- No people, only cats (one or more per photo). Cats need not have been adopted from Paws and Whiskers.
- No professional or copyrighted photos.
- Color digital photos only. Photos must be clear, of good quality and high resolution.
- Single photos only, please. No collages.
- Entrants grant Paws and Whiskers an irrevocable, royalty-free license to use submitted photos for purposes of this contest and in any advertising and promotional materials.
- Paws and Whiskers may reject any submitted photos for any reason and may modify these contest rules without prior notification. All decisions by Paws and Whiskers concerning the contest rules will be final and binding.
PRIZES
Besides bragging rights of having the most gorgeous cat around, there are prizes: The top three vote getters will each receive a gift basket of cat products and their pictures will be featured in Paws' winter newsletter. In addition, the top three cats will become the face of Paws and Whiskers as the profile picture on our Facebook page for one month each, beginning in October 2017. The next nine winners will be our profile picture and represent the shelter for one week each, starting in January 2017.
Winners will be contacted at the end of the contest, and we'll present the winning gift baskets at Bissett's Birthday Bash on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at the shelter. Winners need not be present that day.
