R&R Rescue & Resort is run by married partners, Rachel Salisbury and Robert Given. See our Bio section to learn more about each of us. We both have a lifetime of love for animals. We have done dog boarding together as a team since 2012. We started working with other rescue organizations in 2015. Late 2018 we purchased a property that allowed us to open up our own animal rescue and boarding service, run from our home. We have plans of expansion in the future
At R&R Rescue & Resort, we believe that “every animal deserves love”. Animal rescue is our passion, and we put our heart and soul into every animal we work with.
With over a decade of professional animal care experience, we opened our animal rescue in 2018. We became a registered non-profit charity to best help rescue animals.
We take in stray, abandoned, abused, neglected, and surrendered animals and provide them with medical care, love, patience, and rehabilitation during their time here. We get to know them over a varied period of time, and create an individual biography for each animal, then accept applications to find them the best match for their furever homes.
We take in fewer animals at a time, and give them our full attention to really get to know them well, and place them in families who can provide for their needs, and have a mutually positive relationship. This means that every animal receives high quality care with lots of free time, play, love, and training. When possible, we also support adopted dogs with training sessions and advice, and are always available to answer questions. We want to see you and your pet succeed!
Rescues and shelters in Ontario have seen a 63% - 75% increase in owner surrenders since the beginning of Covid, so organizations like ours need your help more than ever.
