We all love to show off photos of our basset hounds. We hope you'll share your most cherished photo of your basset hound or basset mix with our community of supporters through this fundraising contest. Be sure to share the opportunity to vote with your social networks so you can be the big winner!
The top "fan favorite", or photo with the most votes, will win the coveted calendar cover spot, and the next 12 favorite photos will be prominently showcased on each of the 12 months! BBHR reserves the right to select the month allocated to the remaining winners. All top 13 fan favorites will receive a complimentary 2026 calendar!
This contest is open to anyone. Your photo entry does not have to be of a BBHR dog. We love all basset hounds and welcome entries from all basset owners. We encourage you to share your entry with others.
All proceeds go to help Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue save more basset hounds.
Contest will begin at 9:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 20, 2025 and end at 9:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Winners will be announced on our website at buckeyebassetrescue.org and on our Facebook page.
Voting will stop at 9:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Voters are urged to cast their votes at least 15 minutes before the contest ends. BBHR is not liable for votes not appearing on the website and cannot refund donations for votes that do not appear after the deadline has passed.Entry Fees & Voting
Each entrant must pay a minimum $5 entry fee per photo submission.
Submissions will be accepted online only from 9:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 20, 2025 to 9:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Photos can be voted on by the public during the submission period for $1 per vote with a minimum $5 (5 votes).

Each of these winners will appear as a photo on one of the twelve months and receive a complimentary calendar. BBHR reserves the right to select which photo appears in a specific month. Photos will be displayed as large as possible on the page; poorer quality photographs may be replaced by a better-quality photo of the same dog at the discretion of BBHR.
Each photo entry must be of a basset hound or basset mix; Your dog does not have to be a Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue (BBHR) dog. Submit your photo with a minimum $5 donation for each photo entry. You may enter as many times as you like.
Submit a photo of your basset(s). Include your basset's name(s), your name and address (address will not be displayed only city and state) and an introduction telling us a little something about your basset. If your basset is a rescue, please consider sharing your rescue story. Please limit intro to 50 words or less. If your dog ends in 1st-13th place, BBHR reserves the right to edit text for use in calendar.
All submissions must be of good digital quality (high resolution) to retain detail when enlarged. Entry photo must be animal only — no people. Multiple pets can appear in the picture provided one of the pets is a basset hound.
For best results, please ensure that your pet occupies a central place in the photo so your pet remains the focus, even if the dimensions of the photo change to fit into a small calendar square — 300 dpi or higher in PNG or JPG format — and no greater than 5MB. Note: horizontal or landscape pictures will work best with the calendar layout. Some images may be cropped. Any photo submission that does not comply with the above rules, or is deemed of inappropriate or inhumane content, will be disqualified by Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue.
All winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of GoGo Photo Contest, whose decisions are final and binding. Voting requires a minimum donation of $5 ($1/vote). Voters are urged to cast their votes at least 15 minutes before the contest ends. All photos become the property of Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue and may be used as needed at the rescue's discretion.
