Your Rescue Story
Hello world! My name is Clifford the big black dog, but my family also call me Cliff. I was born into the CA Humane shelter back in October 2022, where I was the last of my litter to be adopted. I didn't meet my family until December 2022 but it was well worth the wait. My name was Blizzard at the time, but the little girl from my new family decided that Clifford was a better name. And it's very fitting since I'm a big boy; mostly Newfoundlander but my family suspects I also may have some Bernese and standard Poodle mixed in there.

My family includes a mom and dad and two kids. We live in a town south of Calgary called Nanton. My family drove almost two hours in a snowstorm to come meet me. They were on the hunt for a young Newfie or Bernese puppy to add to their family, and I'm so glad that someone sent them my picture and profile. My entire profile wasn't even written on the website before they made the appointment to meet me! They already had an older dog who is very nervous about new places so we weren't sure if it was going to be a good fit, but we are best friends now! Some of my favourite activities include playing in the backyard with my dog sister Thor, stealing my families socks and towels to bury in the yard, and going for walks. I also LOVE sleeping with the kids in my family and cuddling up with anyone who will let me. I have such a wonderful life in Nanton with my family!
