From Forgotten to Forever 2027 Calendar Pet Photo Contest

From Forgotten to Forever Rescue (FFTF), in partnership with Golden Iris Portraits, is excited to announce its pet calendar contest for 2027! Proceeds from the sale of the calendar and photo contest provide critical funding for FFTF's mission to rescue at-risk animals and place them in loving homes. Funds help cover veterinary care, food, and supplies for pets in our community while they are cared for in foster homes until they find their forever home, including sweet Remi, Bruiser, Bunchie, and Arlo, whose photos are below.

Choose your favorite photo of your pet, submit your entry for $5, and rally your friends and family to vote for just $1 per vote. All pets are welcome to apply, including dogs, cats, and other beloved companions. Your pet doesn't need to be an FFTF alumni to participate, but we especially love celebrating second-chance stories from rescues, shelters, or our foster and adoption programs. Be sure to review the Contest Rules before submitting so your entry is eligible to win!

Grand Prize

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 12 entrants who get the most votes.

The top winner will win the coveted cover photo and a month in the 2027 calendar! 2nd - 12th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month. The top 12 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Golden Iris Portraits in the summer of 2026.

Photo sessions will be scheduled in Colorado Springs, with an alternate session date in Denver for those who are unable to travel to Colorado Springs.

Voting
  • Votes are $1 each with a five-vote minimum.

If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times or find yourself unable to travel to pre-selected locations, you forfeit your winning and the next top vote getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar.

  • By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless From Forgotten to Forever Rescue and Golden Iris Portraits and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
  • Golden Iris Portraits will have the final say in winning entries. Should an entry receive votes that places it among the top 12 entries and the person in charge of that entry corresponds with or speaks to the photographer or From Forgotten to Forever Rescue and their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, or agents in a manner which is rude, condescending, or aggressive, the entry’s votes will be overruled and that entry will be withdrawn from the contest, disqualified, and removed with no opportunity for a refund. The next highest vote getter will be chosen in its place.
Tips to Make Your Pet Shine

Pick the Perfect Photo

Choose a photo that shows off your pet’s personality and charm. Good lighting helps, and a face-forward shot often grabs attention. Think about what makes your pet unique—maybe their favorite toy, a silly pose, or a special activity.

Share Their Story

A memorable story can inspire votes! Write from your pet’s point of view or tell their journey from “forgotten to forever.” Highlight their quirks, favorite hobbies, or anything that makes them a star in your home.

Rally Your Pack

Share your pet’s profile with friends, family, and fellow pet lovers. Post often on social media and explain why your pet deserves to be featured and how supporting FFTF helps pets in need. There are also mini-contest prizes for vote leaders, so keep spreading the word.

Be sure to check your ranking throughout the contest. Don't forget the final stretch — voting often surges in the last few hours!

About FFTF
From Forgotten to Forever Rescue is a PACFA-licensed, foster-based, all-breed dog and cat rescue in Colorado. Run entirely by passionate volunteers, FFTF focuses on saving pets who may have been overlooked, underserved, or at risk, giving them the time, care, and compassion they need to truly thrive.

Founded in 2015, FFTF began with a mission of transporting dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in New Mexico to safety in Colorado. Through these transport efforts, the rescue has helped dozens of partner organizations save thousands of animals from euthanasia.

In August 2018, FFTF expanded its efforts by launching its Colorado-based rescue operation. Since then, the organization has created thousands of happy families through direct adoptions and has broadened its rescue reach to include parts of Texas and underserved areas of Colorado. FFTF prioritizes making thoughtful, lasting matches between pets and the people who welcome them into their homes.

In addition to helping animals from municipal shelters, FFTF has taken in many pets after the passing of their owners and other difficult life situations. Rescue efforts have also included trapping stray dogs and litters of puppies in the Navajo Nation and the Rio Sucharas region of southern Colorado.

Because FFTF is foster-based, every animal receives individualized care in a home environment while they wait for their forever family. The rescue provides all supplies and veterinary care, but more foster homes are always needed to continue saving lives.

FFTF accepts all breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs and cats. The organization does not shy away from major medical cases and has invested thousands of dollars into saving the life of a single animal on more than one occasion.

As a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit, FFTF relies entirely on donations to continue its lifesaving work. Funds raised through this calendar contest will help support the rescue's growing medical expenses so that even more animals can receive the care they need and find the loving homes they deserve.
