Rules

• You will be asked to:
• Provide information about yourself and your pet.
• Answer brief questions about your pet.
• Upload a high-quality photograph.
• All requested information must be completed for your entry to be accepted.
  
  

• Photos and written responses must be original creations by the entrant.
• By entering, you confirm:
• You are the sole owner and copyright holder of the photograph and description.
• You have not granted exclusive rights to the photo to anyone else.
• The photo does not violate privacy rights, trademarks, copyrights, or any other personal or legal rights.
  
  

• Written descriptions must be in English or Spanish.
• Helen Woodward Animal Center may reject any entry that:
• Doesn’t meet eligibility requirements (see eligibility and disclaimers page).
• Is deemed unsuitable for any reason at their sole discretion.
• If your entry is rejected, it will be removed from the contest site, and you will be notified via email.
  
  

The entry fee is $25 per photo. You can make an additional donation during the entry process that will count as votes toward your submitted photo.

After you submit your entry, you will have the opportunity to ask your friends and family members to donate-to vote by sending them the URL for your entry. Your friends and family can purchase one vote credit for every $1 they donate to support Helen Woodward Animal Center and our programs. Minimum donation is $5.

Winners are determined by the greatest number of votes received. All photos with at least 50 votes that meet eligibility requirements will appear in the calendar. Each entrant will receive a discount code to purchase the Helen Woodward Animal Center 2027 Faces of Hope Calendar. 

If your pet win 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd place and you are unable to commit to the scheduled photo session or are unable to travel to the selected photo location, you forfeit your pet's win, and the next top vote-getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar. If you are a no-show for your pet's photo session, you forfeit your pet's win, and the next top vote-getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar. No exceptions.

Any pet in the contest can be located using the “Search Pets” function. 

• Each photo requires a separate registration.
• Votes cannot be combined across different entries.
• Only entries submitted through www.animalcenter.org/FacesofHope will be accepted.
• Photos sent by email or mail will be discarded.
• Once submitted, entries cannot be deleted unless deemed ineligible.

The contest ends at 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Monday, August 31, 2026. Please be advised that winners are determined by votes counted as of 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Monday, August 31, 2026.  If a vote does not register by that time, it will not be counted.
