The Lincoln County Humane Society is a charitable not-for-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of all animals. First formed in 1881, we serve over 200,000 people in the communities along the south shores of Lake Ontario, in the north part of the Niagara Region. The Lincoln County Humane Society receives thousands of animals each year at Fourth Avenue, St. Catharines Location. We are the only animal shelter in St. Catharines and the largest shelter in the Niagara Region.
The Lincoln County Humane Society provides safe refuge and compassionate care for animals. It is our mission to alleviate their suffering and neglect, support the human-animal bond and foster an environment in which people respect all living creatures.
We pursue workable solutions to the most urgent animal welfare issues in our community, which are animal over population and homelessness. These solutions emphasize the mutual benefits of bringing pets and people together. We are a cornerstone of the community- reliable, dependable, always accessible and ready when you need us.

The care provided by the staff at the Lincoln County Humane Society is top-notch and cannot be covered by fees alone. We rely heavily on community support to cover non-reimbursed costs and special services such as emergency medical care and special dietary needs. The funds donated to our shelter stay in the shelter with donations going to the care for the animals.
