My dog is the coolest because...
My name is Paco and I’m from Chicago originally. Please don’t hold that against me, Green Bay peeps! 🤣 I am not OH-FISHILY a rescue, but I had 2 homes before I became part of my De Pere family (the Hansons) and I was barely 2 at that time in the spring of 2020. I’m a purebred Havanese and I was born into a show dog family. The thing is I’m a lot bigger than most Havanese, so maybe that’s why I wasn’t shown. Anyway, some really nice people from Appleton adopted me when I was 1! I was so happy and I still love that family! But they are very busy, so after 1 year, they decided to find me a home where I could receive more one-on-one HOOman time. Turns out the Hansons had two Havanese dogs before me, and they were black and white, JUST LIKE ME! When I first came home to the Hansons’ house, I loved hanging out with my Havanese brother, Skipper. He was sick, though. Mom called it lymphoma. He passed away in spring 2021. Now I’m the only dog. I love my De Pere home because I don’t have to stay in a kennel anymore and I get to eat Old Wisconsin Turkey Bites EVERY DAY for a treat! YUM! You see, Skipper had to get medicine every day, so they put his pills in Turkey Bites. Mom gave me Turkey Bites too because she didn’t want me to feel left out. 🥰 Well, I just have to say they’re addicting! Ha ha! At my De Pere house, I do have some playmates, but they go potty in the house—ewww! And they meow instead of bark. They can kind of annoy me (especially the kitten named Garfield-ughhh! WAAYYYY too much energy!). Then, at night sometimes, Garfield will fall asleep ON TOP OF ME when I just want to be alone. Whatever, I’m chill. Mom says I’m just like Brutus, my family’s first Havanese, because he was chill about EVERYTHING. Never growled once, his entire life, even when my HOOman sister was a baby and she pulled his long hair. He lived to be 15. Sounds like a cool dude. Kindness is NOT overrated, you know? Anyway, cats aren’t so bad, I guess. I do play with them sometimes, and I like their toys! Mom says I will have to turn in my Dog Card soon, whatever that means. But then she snuggles me and says she is so happy that the cats are my friends, especially because Skipper isn’t here now. Mom and Dad say I’m the best dog ever, even though I destroy every tissue I find! What can I say? I like chewing tissues! Seriously, I have the BEST family now, and within the past few months, I have even stopped shrinking away from Dad when he puts his hand over my head to pet me. They think someone used to hit me, but I only know how to look to the future and love. Love everyone with PURE love. That’s my motto! Thanks for reading my story. Peace out!
