My dog is the coolest because...
Quinn is quite a unique dog. He’s a one and a half year old labradoodle that brightens anyone and everyone’s day (I mean, just look at that smile)! Growing up, I had begged and begged my mom and stepdad to get a dog for years. The answer was always, “wait until you move out”. I finally moved out a few years ago, but getting a dog wasn’t in the cards for me. I didn’t have a clear sense of direction in life and my world revolved around partying and excessive drinking, at the toll of my mental health. When the pandemic hit, my mental health continued to deteriorate, and that is when my grandmother had gifted me with Quinn. To say he was the greatest gift I had ever received is quite an understatement. Since I got Quinn, my life has been on the up and up. Few people may know this, but Quinn quite literally saved me from myself. He’s my emotional support animal and boy, he does an outstanding job and doesn’t even know it. Quinn loves to travel with me and my boyfriend up north, loves squirrels, LOVES to swim (we can’t ever get him out of the water), loves cuddling with big stuffed animals, and for whatever reason, enjoys watching football and basketball on TV. He’s quite the character and although he has been my emotional support system, I know he has actually been my grandma’s as well. We lost my great grandpa (her stepdad— who also loved Quinn), at the end of 2020, and my grandma dogsits occasionally. She absolutely spoils him and as much as she acts strong for her family, I know he has helped her through such hard and emotional times she’s been going through just like he has done for me. Quinn fills a part of our heart we didn’t even know was empty. We love our Quinn so so much and thank him for saving us when we didn’t know we needed saving.
