Eligibility

The Oregon Humane Beer Label Photo Contest (the Contest) is open to legal residents of Oregon and Washington state who are at least sixteen (16) years old at the time of entry. The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law.

Contest entry and voting begins on July 13 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on July 27, all times are in Pacific time. This contest is a fundraising-based promotional contest and is not a raffle, lottery, or game of chance. Oregon Humane reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.

Employees and Board Members of Oregon Humane may enter a photo and win placement on the beer can label but are not eligible to win prizes with a retail sales value.

Photo Rules and Image Requirements

Once entered, photos become the property of Oregon Humane which may, at its discretion, copy, edit, publish, or modify entries for use in any and all media, without limitation or compensation to the photographer or the individuals and pets appearing in the photo. The submitter of the photo does not relinquish rights to use the photo.

Photos must meet the image requirements described below. If a winning entry does not meet the requirements listed, Oregon Humane will contact you to provide a selection of 3-4 additional photos by Thursday, July 30. If an acceptable photo is not received, Oregon Humane reserves the right to offer the winning place to the next eligible contestant.

For a winning photo to appear on the Oregon Humane beer label, the photo must be of high resolution (at least 3000 pixels x 2000 pixels or 3MB is preferred) and depict the animal in a loving, humane environment as determined by Oregon Humane.

Photos can depict any domestic animal. We love seeing animals who have been adopted from Oregon Humane living their best lives, so Oregon Humane adopters are strongly encouraged to participate. However, your pet does not have to be adopted from Oregon Humane to be eligible to enter the Contest.

All photos must be submitted by the photographer who took the photo. Oregon Humane cannot accept copyrighted photos unless the owner of the copyright agrees to the usage rights of the Oregon Humane Contest.

If photos include pets not owned by the photographer, or people not in the photographer's immediate family, written permission from the pet's owner and/or the individuals photographed allowing for Oregon Humane to use their images according to the rules of this contest is required.

Images generated or significantly altered using Artificial Intelligence (AI) image generators that create whole image or backgrounds from text prompts are not permitted.

All cats or dogs in your photo should be wearing flat collars and tags. Photos of cats or dogs without flat collars and ID tags may be ruled ineligible for inclusion on the beer label. Photos of dogs wearing choke chains, prong/pinch collars, or shock collars are not permitted.

Alcohol consumption or depiction of alcohol consumption by animals is prohibited and photos with such content will be removed from the Contest site.

The beer label design will include the name of the winning pets. However, if a winning pet has a name that uses offensive or questionable language, or is in contradiction to Oregon Humane’s values, that pet's name will not be printed.

Photos submitted must include only the winning animal (and no other animals or humans). The animal should be present in no less than 2/3 of the frame.

If your vote count places among the top three at the conclusion of the Contest and your photo does not meet these requirements, you will be asked to supply a photo that does meet these requirements. If you are unable to supply any photo that meets these requirements, you will forfeit your prize to the next entry receiving the most votes.

Winning and Prize Fine Print

To submit an entry for the Contest, you must create an entry on the fundraiser website. Grand Prize and Finalist Prize Winners will be determined based on the number of votes raised by their entry and not by random chance. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries and the amount of votes (donations) received. Donations constitute votes and directly impact contest standing. All donations must be made online and directly to your entry to be counted towards your fundraising total. All donations to the Contest are final. Oregon Humane is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected entries or votes, or for technical failures of any kind.

The People’s Champ winner will be selected based on the entry with the most unique voters as determined by email address. If there is a tie, the entry who received the unique voters first will be the winner.

The Pawfect Model winner will be selected from entries that have met all contest and photo eligibility rules who have entered the contest as of 11:59 p.m. on July 27 . The winner of this prize cannot also win a Finalist Prize or a Grand Prize. If the selected winner is one of the Finalist Prize winners, they will have the choice of the Finalist Prize or the Pawfect Model prize. If they select the Finalist Prize, the committee will award the Pawfect Model prize to the runner-up choice. If they select the Pawfect Model prize, the committee will award a Finalist Prize to the 7th-highest vote earner. Grand Prize winners will not be eligible to win the Pawfect Model.

Prize Notification

The three Grand Prize winners and three Finalists will be posted to the homepage of this website on Tuesday, July 28. Pawfect Model and People’s Champ winners will be announced via email and posted to the contest page on Friday, August 7. The winners will also be contacted directly by Oregon Humane only if it is necessary to make arrangements for submitting any additional photos or materials.

All taxes on prizes, including but not limited to federal, state, and local taxes, are the responsibility of the winners. Please consult your tax advisor for additional information.
