We are searching for the perfect pooch in the county and your dog might just be the one! The PERFECT POOCH OF PORTAGE PHOTO CONTEST is open to anyone who would like to enter their dog to compete for the coveted title of "Perfect Pooch of Portage" for 2019.

If voted the PERFECT POOCH OF PORTAGE, your dog will be featured on the label of a special Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. beer called Man's Best Friend. You will get to be part of the "brew crew" for this beer as well as have a tour and tasting of Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. Also, your dog will be featured on a local billboard showing just how perfect your pooch is.


This is a fundraising event for Tails and Trails. The Portage Park District Foundation and the Madonio Family Animal Welfare Trust believe that by combining forces and creating one fun fundraiser, both our organizations can benefit.

The Madonio Family Animal Welfare Trust supports many local animal groups, provides food for the pets of individuals who receive Meals in Motion, and works with local veterinarians to support the care of pets who require emergency services.

The Portage Park District Foundation supports our park district by raising funds. Our goal is to begin a fund for trail development and maintenance so more people and their dogs can enjoy our parks.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the Top 10 Pooches that receive the most votes. We will announce the winners at an our Big Reveal Party to be held on May 11. Check back on this website for more details. Winners and will also be announced on this website.

• The dog with the most votes will be crowned the "Perfect Pooch of Portage" for 2019.
• The winning dog will be prominently featured on the front label of a special beer brewed by Thirsty Dog Brewing Co.
• The dog owner will have the opportunity to be part of the "brew crew" to make this special beer as well as have a tour and tasting at Thirsty Dog Brewing Co.
• The winning dog will be photographed and featured in local print and electronic media.
• The winning dog will be prominently featured on a billboard for one month.
• The winning dog may be asked to attend promotional events and be available for interviews by the news media.

• The dog with the second highest number of votes will be deemed the "Nearly-Perfect Pooch of Portage for 2019."
• The second place dog will be featured on the back label of the special brew in a smaller photo than the first place winner.
• The second place dog will be photographed and featured in local print and electronic media.
• The second place dog will be featured on a billboard for one month in a smaller photo than the first place winner.
• The dog owner of the second place dog will have the opportunity to have a tour and tasting at Thirsty Dog Brewing Company.
• In the event that the first place dog is unable or unwilling to fulfill all of the roles and responsibilities of being the Perfect Pooch of Portage the second place dog will assume that title and receive all the benefits described for the top dog prize.

• The dog with the third highest number of votes will be deemed "Close-enough-to Perfect Pooch of Portage for 2019."
• The third place dog will be featured on the back label of the special brew in a smaller photo than the first place winner.
• The dog owner of the third place dog will have the opportunity to have a tour and tasting at Thirsty Dog Brewing Company.
• The third place dog will be featured on a billboard for one month in a smaller photo than the first and second place winners

• The dogs with the fourth through tenth highest number of votes will be deemed "Perfect-enough-for me Pooches of Portage for 2019."
• The dog owners of places 4-10 will have the opportunity to have a tour and tasting at Thirsty Dog Brewing Company.
• These dogs will be featured on a billboard for one month in a smaller photo than the first, second, and third place winners.
