Reserve-a-Day Option:
Want to honor your pet’s birthday/"gotcha" day? Perhaps a special anniversary is coming up or another celebratory occasion! You can now reserve a specific calendar day for a $100 donation! The date will be marked with a photo (resolution rules apply) and custom caption printed on the date of your choice in the 2027 calendar. When you reserve a day in our calendar, you will receive one complimentary calendar by mail in November.
NEW! Gift a Reserve-a-Day! Honor a friend or family member with a meaningful gift that gives back to animals in need. Each gifted Reserve-a-Day will include a complimentary calendar and custom card for you to gift to that special someone. The card will let them know a Reserve-a-Day was donated in their honor. (Custom cards will be mailed after the contest ends.) Make sure to fill out the Reserve-a-Day Custom Card Form once you have confirmed your Reserve-a-Day. A link to the form can be found in your Reserve-a-Day confirmation email.
Please note:
- Dates are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Only one occasion per date.
- There will be a limited amount of days available to reserve per month.
- The reservation fee is separate from contest entries and does not impact voting.

The Hawaiian Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Each donation supports over 30 programs the Hawaiian Humane Society provides for the community and its animals. All donations are nonrefundable. Please save the transaction email for your tax records.
Contest Rules
How to Enter:
- Submit your pet’s photo.
- Professional pet photoshoots will be available for all monthly winners to be used in the calendar. If you decide to forgo the photoshoot, the photo you submit will be used in the calendar if your pet is a winner. These photos must be in horizontal (landscape) format and high resolution (1280 pixels wide and at least 1 megabyte in file size).
- The entry fee is $30 per entry, and you may enter as many times as you like. The categories are dog, cat and other animal (bunny, bird, turtle, etc.)
- The top 5 entries for the dog and cat categories and the top 2 entries for the "other animal" category will be featured as Pet of the Month in the 2027 calendar. Winners will randomly be assigned a month and are unable to request specific months.
- All contest entry photos who have 25 votes or more will be featured on our collage pages.
Voting:
- Encourage your friends and family to vote for your pet! For just $1 per vote, they can help make your pet a star while making a tax-deductible donation to Hawaiian Humane Society. You can also vote for your own pet!
- All votes must be cast online via our Pets in Paradise Calendar Contest website. Use the “share” button on your pet’s public profile to share your entry through Facebook, Instagram, and other social media sites. You can also email the link to family and friends.
Photo submissions and votes will be accepted from June 1 to June 30, 2026; voting ends at 9:00 PM HST on June 30th.
Photo Guidelines:
- No humans - just pets, please!
- Photos may contain more than one pet, however, only one prize package will be awarded to winners.
- Two different species of animals submitted for one category will not be eligible to win. Example: If you post a photo of your dog and cat together in the cat category, only the cat will be allowed in the photo.
- All pets must be legal animals in the State of Hawaiʻi;
- Your pet does not have to be a Hawaiian Humane Society alumni to enter.
- No inappropriate photos or use of AI photos will be permitted.
- If your photo does not meet the requirements, your entry will not be accepted, and you will be asked to submit a new photo.

Established in 1883, we are O’ahu’s largest animal welfare organization that is a resource for all animals.
