How to Enter:
- Submit your pet’s photo.
- Professional pet photoshoots will be available for all monthly winners to be used in the calendar. If you decide to forgo the photoshoot, the photo you submit will be used in the calendar if your pet is a winner. These photos must be in horizontal (landscape) format and high resolution (1280 pixels wide and at least 1 megabyte in file size).
- The entry fee is $30 per entry, and you may enter as many times as you like. The categories are dog, cat and other animal (bunny, bird, turtle, etc.)
- The top 5 entries for the dog and cat categories and the top 2 entries for the "other animal" category will be featured as Pet of the Month in the 2027 calendar. Winners will randomly be assigned a month and are unable to request specific months.
- All contest entry photos who have 25 votes or more will be featured on our collage pages.
Voting:
- Encourage your friends and family to vote for your pet! For just $1 per vote, they can help make your pet a star while making a tax-deductible donation to Hawaiian Humane Society. You can also vote for your own pet!
- All votes must be cast online via our Pets in Paradise Calendar Contest website. Use the “share” button on your pet’s public profile to share your entry through Facebook, Instagram, and other social media sites. You can also email the link to family and friends.
Photo submissions and votes will be accepted from June 1 to June 30, 2026; voting ends at 9:00 PM HST on June 30th.
Photo Guidelines:
- No humans - just pets, please!
- Photos may contain more than one pet, however, only one prize package will be awarded to winners.
- Two different species of animals submitted for one category will not be eligible to win. Example: If you post a photo of your dog and cat together in the cat category, only the cat will be allowed in the photo.
- All pets must be legal animals in the State of Hawaiʻi;
- Your pet does not have to be a Hawaiian Humane Society alumni to enter.
- No inappropriate photos or use of AI photos will be permitted.
- If your photo does not meet the requirements, your entry will not be accepted, and you will be asked to submit a new photo.
