The “Unofficial” Mayor of Rainbow will serve as a goodwill ambassador for the town. The winner will be expected to attend local events, business openings (ribbon cuttings, "mixers," etc.), parades and Rainbow Valley Grange community functions.

Rules
The “Unofficial” Mayor of Rainbow will serve as a goodwill ambassador for the town. The winner will be expected to attend local events, business openings (ribbon cuttings, "mixers," etc.), parades and Rainbow Valley Grange community functions. The Mayor must be friendly to all humans and animals alike. It is their duty to be seen around town and be available to meet with residents, tourists and enjoy posing for photos. Pet must live in 92028 zip code. Pet must be able to attend the Protea Festival Hosted by the Rainbow Valley Grange on April 26, 2026 where the winner, as well as the Deputy Mayor (2nd runner up) will be announced. The “Unofficial” Mayor has no political authority but serves to promote community spirit, goodwill and tourism
About Us
Mission Statement
“Strengthening individuals, families and communities through service, education, nonpartisan grassroots advocacy and agricultural awareness.”

Purpose
The Rainbow Valley Grange provides a central meeting space for community members, since 1948. We promote farming locally by sponsoring crop swaps, a community garden bed, a plant giveaway location, and a seed swap cabinet. We have events for the community which include concerts, craft fairs, dance lessons, bingo nights for adults and children, pancake breakfasts and potlucks, and bi-annual festivals.

What We Do

We host a variety of community events and serve as a gathering place for residents of Rainbow, CA.

  • Weekly AA Meetings, Mondays 7:00pm
  • Monthly Line Dancing Lessons, 1st Tuesday 6:00-8:00pm
  • Monthly Rainbow Community Planning Group Meetings, 3rd Wednesday at 6:30pm
  • Monthly Bingo, 3rd Thursday at 6:00pm
  • Monthly Grange Meetings, 2nd Thursday each month at 6:00pm
  • Monthly Crop Swaps, 4th Saturday at 9:00am
  • Monthly sponsor for spay/neuter in community
  • Annual sponsor of Fallbrook 4H
  • Community partnership with Vallecitos Elementary
