SafeHaven Humane Society’s annual photo contest is back! The only difference this year is that there are no tricks – just treats! Seeing photos of adorable animals counts as a treat, right? From August 15th to September 15th, we want to see your best petparazzi photos. Our categories this year include Top SafeHaven Alumni (cat, dog, or small animal) Top Dog, Best Cool Cat, and Best Fantastic Friend (pet other than cat or dog…rabbits, horses, and more!)
This photo contest fundraiser is an exciting way to celebrate your pet while helping SafeHaven shelter pets who are eagerly waiting for a home of their own. Plus, do you really need incentive to take adorable photos of your pets? We think not! Your votes help SafeHaven care for over 2,500 animals each year, who are given the opportunity to find loving homes because of your support!
Entering is easy! Simply share your favorite photo of your pet (along with a short description) and encourage your friends and family to vote for your submission.
Entering is free! Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery and be open to voting by the general public. Votes are $1 each, with a minimum $5 donation for five votes.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded to the photo with the most votes at the end of the contest in each category. Runner up in each category will receive a small basket of pet supplies and prizes.
Top SafeHaven Alumni:
- Your pet will be the cover of our Spring 2020 Pet Press magazine. Along with the cover, a featured story will be included within the magazine where you can tell your pet’s adoption story! A bundle of Pet Presses will be available to you to distribute to friends and family.
- Two tickets to our Rescue Roundup event held on Saturday, October 5th at the Albany Boys and Girls Club. You won’t want to miss this boot stompin’ good time!
- A $50.00 Visa gift card.

Please note: If your Best Fantastic Friend is a large animal, such as a horse, SafeHaven is only able to travel up to 30 miles to take photos of your pet.
The pet in each category with the most votes will also be featured as our website header for one month.
