My Shelter In Place story
We have always spent time with family on the weekends but now, for safety, we mostly stay home except for work. Skittles has come to love the cuddle time he gets every night after supper. We enjoy watching both of our cats as they play, fight and 'play fight'. They are like our children and each one has a unique personality. Our other cat, Macho, only allows snuggles on his schedule but he does enjoy sleeping between my feet so he can reach out and know that I'm there. I never knew I was a cat person until Macho, a tiny gray stray kitten, wandered up where my husband works. Skittles came to us a month later, a homeless, hungry kitten living under a car, as an answered prayer we had made for Macho to have a playmate. We watch for long periods of time as Skittles chases things that aren't really there and tries to stalk Macho around the house. My husband and I have named their game BOO because one will hide around the door frame until the other walks by then he jumps out...... BOO! We currently have 3 outside dogs and 2 inside cats, all of which were strays who had been abandoned or lost. We love them all beyond words and I know, without a doubt, that if another fur baby shows up in our lives tomorrow, there will be room at our home for him or her and room in our hearts.
