My Shelter In Place story
We adopted Lexy from Stamford ACC in 2015 a few months after losing our dog Baxter. She is the best and smartest dog but she's not snuggly or affectionate. During Covid we have all been feeling down, it has been especially hard on our daughter. We decided to ask our landlord if we could adopt a second dog, as she's always wanted her own dog. We got the okay and I was taking shelter pics at Rescue Right in Bedford NY and Sammy's foster dad brought him in for a vaccination. He was one of a litter of 4 and had been transported to NY from Missouri. His mother was shot and killed for going into someone's chicken coop and luckily he and his siblings were rescued and found their way to Rescue Right. The 4 puppies were being fostered together so a few days after I met him, my wife, daughter and I, all went to meet the litter and do a photo shoot. We knew we would be adopting one of them as they were all the cutest things ever! We decided on Sammy and he came home 5 weeks ago. This photo is from his 10 week photo shoot. He has brought tons of joy to our family and really lifted our spirits during this horrible time in history. Even Lexy and our cat Batman are cool with him - he fits right into our family !
