What's happening! With Mardi Gras festivities different this year, we want to encourage the community to mask up and keep the "Spirit of Mardi Gras" by creating handcrafted Mardi Gras face masks. Proceeds benefit the
Spirit of Charity Foundation.
This ain't ya Mama's Mardi Gras mask! Where traditional carnival masks cover the top of your face, your design must cover the lower part of your face like the healthcare masks we've been wearing to stay safe.
It's easy! Submit your handcrafted Mardi Gras mask photo in a category with a $5 entry donation, then get your family and friends to vote.
Rules
The first entry in each category automatically gets FIVE extra Mardi Gras kick-off votes!Categories!• Best Mardi Gras/Carnival Mask (traditional colors or theme)
• Best Environmental Mask (upcycled, nature or earth-friendly theme)
• Best Original Themed Mask (make your own concept and theme)
• Best Youth Entry Mask (12 yrs old and below)
• Best Couple or Group Masks (must show more than one person)
The category entry with the highest votes WINS!
• A 2021 contest category trophy
• Festive Mardi Gras goodie basket
• A boosted Facebook/Instagram post and photo
• Massive bragging rights! After all, we are hoping this will be the only mask contest that we will ever have to do!
• The first and second runner up in each category will receive a framed Runner Up Certificate... and a few less bragging rights.
