Pet's Story:
Jolyn and Netty are a mother/daughter bonded pair I adopted last year. I was told they were delivered to Beagle Rescue around midnight one summer night on a large truckful of crated dogs from Louisiana. The paperwork from the Louisiana dog rescue said they were surrendered because the owners didn't have room for them. Also , they had heartworms. I wanted one dog, but two ended up being better.
Netty, the smaller one, is the mother and she has a deformed rear leg, but you should see her chase Jolyn, who is very fast. Netty grabs Jolyn's rear leg so she can keep up with her and slow her down. Netty the mother is in charge of Jolyn, which makes it so easy to have two dogs, no behavior problems except digging holes. I buried balloons in the holes, but they were so excited to pop them, they dug some more. Jolyn was scared of people and didn't like being touched, but now she likes hugs and approaches almost everyone looking for treats. They are wonderful pets and many thanks to Beagle Rescue for giving them a second chance!
