Pet's Story:
We adopted Satchmo (Louie VI) from Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue 2 years ago when he was 9 years old. The name Louie really suited him, but our next door neighbor's name is Louie, and we thought that could be awkward so we changed his name to Satchmo (Louis Armstrong's nickname. ) Our Satchmo likes going to outdoor music festivals with us. Satchmo was a hunting dog before he was rescued by TBBR. He loved tracking interesting scents when we first got him. One time he happily dived into a bush to retrieve a dead squirrel which he proudly deposited at my feet.... Thanks, Pal.... He has since adjusted to his retirement. Now our walks are more leisurely. Satchmo takes the time to sniff every blade of grass,every bush, every tree... He did get excited about possum scurrying along the fence one morning though. Satchmo is everybody's friend and is a total love muffin. We enjoy snuggle time every evening. I can't imagine life without him as part of our family.
