What does an odd cat mean to us? Odd cats are cats who are less desirable to some. They are cats who have been saved from death row, cats who were strays or who are semi-feral, cats with special needs, cats who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, senior cats, cats with behavioral problems, pregnant cats, etc. We believe that all cats are beautiful but we especially believe in the beauty of cats who are different or ‘odd'. We wanted to create a contest that allows odd cats to be highlighted and displayed in a calendar for others to admire; and to spread the message that being odd is beautiful! We also wanted to partake in this contest to raise money for our rescue and to be able to continue saving more lives; to save more strays, more death row cats and kittens, more special needs cats and kittens, and other special souls in need of our help.


Submit a photo of your odd cat starting October 4, 2019 through November 2, 2019; the sooner you enter, the more time you have to gain votes! The photo entry fee is a $10 donation! Once you have submitted your photo, be sure to share the link and urge your friends & family to purchase votes and vote for you, for a chance to be featured in our upcoming calendar!

• Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the Odd Cat Sanctuary to be eligible to enter the contest; we welcome all ‘Odd Cats'
• People are NOT allowed in photos
• Photo entries must be no smaller than 1575 pixels x 2100 pixels, in RGB, .jpg or .eps format. Photos must be high resolution for printing purposes. If you are taking photos with your phone, please be sure to capture your image at the highest possible setting in order to meet resolution criteria.
• Multiple animals are allowed in one photo.
• Volunteers from The Odd Cat Sanctuary are welcome to submit photographs
• We strongly recommend that all photo submissions are digital, as printed photos and Polaroids are unlikely to be high enough quality to be reproduced in the calendar.
• We cannot accept photos with digital overlays, photo stickers, doodles or any digital effects. Copyrighted photos may only be included with the written permission of the copyright-holder.
• Once entered, photo submissions become the property of The Odd Cat Sanctuary to be used at its discretion for print and marketing purposes.
• The Odd Cat Sanctuary reserves the right to decline publication of any photograph for any reason.
• The submission and voting periods begins on October 4, 2019 12:00 A.M. EST and ends on November 2, 2019 11:59:59 P.M. EST
• You must purchase a minimum of five votes at a time for a minimum charge of $5, $1 a vote. You may vote for your own photo
• Winners will be announced on Facebook and/or Instagram
• Let the fun begin!

• The top vote-getter or the Grand Prize winner, will win the prize of being featured on the cover of our calendar!

• The top 12 vote-getters, not including the Grand Prize winner, will be chosen to each represent a month in the Odd Cat 2019 Calendar (each winning a separate month, chosen by the Odd Cat Sanctuary). *If photo rules/resolution are not met, then an alternate may be chosen by The Odd Cat Sanctuary

• The top 4 vote-getters will also win their choice of merchandise (1 piece) from the Odd Cat Sanctuary (Limited to U.S. residents)
