Jake was pulled from a high-kill shelter the night before he was set to be euthanized. The first year of his life he had been severely neglected, and he came to the rescue sick and injured. Through the love of two foster homes, he captured my heart from our very first meet and he has had it ever since (which was over four years ago). Jake doesn't let his past get him down and is the quintessential smart, active, and sweet border collie that he was always meant to be. I always say that he isn't perfect, but he's perfect for me. He has spurred the last four years of my life to be devoted to rescue work, because I see the beautiful outcome of this work in his face everyday.
